| Abstract |
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a heightened psychological distress among older adults. This study examines the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the psychological distress among urban older adults in Malaysia. By using a sub-sample of Wave 2 Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS) witg 274 respondents and analysis based on principal component Analysis (PCA) and multiple linear regression model with robust standard error, the results showed that factors such as socioeconomics status, employment, family relationship and media exposure as contributors to distress. Staying informed about COVID-19 is linked to reduced psychological distress. |
