Abstract: Malaysia is aging rapidly. This rapid change led to the Elderly Health Program under the 7th Malaysia Plan. The responsibility of caring is a shared commitment. In terms of formal support, it involves government and private agencies. Informal support comes from family, children, teenagers, and the involvement of the community and neighbors. The main goal is to achieve elderly people who are well, independent, and productive through proper knowledge and caregiving skills at home.

Abstract: Ageing is a normal biological process, but disease complications can be prevented. Older people age well if they meet all of the following: strong social support; no cognitive limitations; no depression; able to live independently in daily activities; and have no chronic diseases or well-controlled chronic conditions. Preparing to age healthily doesn’t start at 60. It’s a lifestyle investment that begins when you’re young.

Abstract: This study aims to assess emotional well-being, quality of life, and coping strategies among couples undergoing infertility treatment at the LPPKN subfertility center in Malaysia, as well as explore their psychosocial experiences in the local cultural context. Partner and family support are identified as important protective factors. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach and the integration of mental health screening and counseling support in infertility services to ensure patient-centered care.

Abstract: The issue of dementia is not a new matter, but if it is not managed, it can affect the health of the population and subsequently lead to increased dementia treatment costs. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between a healthy lifestyle and the risk of dementia among the elderly in the northern zone as a preparation for the aging nation in 2030. The study findings show that the majority of the elderly face chronic health problems and rely on caregivers. The results also found that the effects of a healthy lifestyle and social well-being can reduce the risk of dementia. Thus, to ensure the well-being of the elderly is maintained and to reduce dementia problems among them, the development of inclusive community programs, increasing health literacy, as well as physical, mental, and social well-being programs to maintain the quality of life need to be carried out. Cooperation from various parties is very important to ensuring that the quality of life for the elderly is maintained.

It also looks at the role of parent-child relationships and attitudes toward family counseling as mediating factors. The study emphasizes that family dynamics play an important role in shaping teenage behavior, with positive family relationships and an openness to counseling being key mechanisms in reducing bullying behavior.

Microplastics in Human Semen: A Baseline Study on Characterization, Sources and Reproductive Health Implications Among Men from Klang Valley (Malaysia)

Abstract: These microplastics (MPs) have been identified as concerning pollutants due to their presence being documented in several human biological matrices, including blood, placenta, lung tissue, feces, and more recently, semen. This study is the first systematic research in Malaysia to assess the presence of MPs in male semen and their relationship with semen quality. These findings directly benefit LPPKN by strengthening the evidence base on environmental factors affecting reproductive health and align with the PEKERTI Policy and Action Plan, especially the emphasis on empowering research in the field of reproductive health.

Abstract: This study aims to develop a Patient-Centered Care (PCC) framework model to tackle challenges and improve the effectiveness of early breast cancer detection in Malaysia. The study uses a retrospective trend analysis design based on secondary data from the LPPKN Mammogram Screening Program over a 5-year period from 2020 to 2024, involving women aged 35 to 70. Analysis was conducted to identify participation patterns, implementation gaps, sociodemographic factors, as well as the effectiveness of screening and early breast cancer detection. Based on the findings, a PCC framework was developed covering four main domains: service accessibility and availability, patient engagement and empowerment, sociodemographic context, and continuity and coordination of care. This framework provides an evidence-based strategic approach to increase screening participation, strengthen follow-up compliance, and promote early cancer detection. Overall, this study contributes to the improvement of a more inclusive, responsive, and effective national screening system in enhancing women's health outcomes in Malaysia.

Impak Psikososial Fenomena Office Husband/Wife dalam konteks Komuniti Rapat (Close-Knit Community): Satu Kajian Terhadap Wanita di Perlis

Abstract: The qualitative data of this study was extracted from reflective journals of three respondents to understand their experiences, emotions, and narrative expressions. Modern lifestyles that blur the boundaries between career and personal life allow work demands to intrude into domestic space and threaten marital harmony. Manipulation and gaslighting tactics constitute emotional abuse that is deliberately chosen and systematically planned, where the normalization of lying within this family unit reflects a critical deficit in moral integrity. The socio-cultural ecosystem and societal stigma of a 'close-knit community' place moral burdens, such as family shame, relationships with relatives and neighbors, or the wife's duty to maintain the household, which worsens the trauma of betrayal and forces them to stay in toxic marriages. The micro impact of emotional infidelity (Office husband/wife) and the trauma of betrayal is no longer just a personal conflict or an isolated marital crisis. The macro impact of seeing the collapse of family institutions due to this emotional manipulation calls for structured public policy interventions to prevent the overall social fabric of society from breaking down.

Abstract: The decline in birth and fertility rates in Malaysia has happened alongside the rapid development of reproductive technology. Innovations like IVF, ICSI, and egg freezing provide opportunities to address fertility issues, but they also raise questions about ethics, consent, lineage, and the legitimacy of children. This presentation looks at these developments from demographic, medical, shariah, and Malaysian family law perspectives. Johor's demographic transformation requires integrating reproductive innovations, protecting lineage, and supporting families to ensure community well-being in the digital era.
